Better Than Boot Campsm is a great alternative to straight boarding for vacation times, or when your dog's skills or behavior need some polishing. This is NOT your average doggie boot camp program, it's BETTER than boot camp! Your dog is taught using the same gentle, dog-friendly methods we teach in our group classes and private programs.
We provide safe and comfortable accommodations! Your dog will be staying at Pet Chalet, a luxury dog daycare and boarding facility in the Inland Empire. During your dog's stay, he will enjoy comfortable, clean and quiet accomodations (upgraded rooms with furniture and TV are available upon request). He will enjoy multiple interactions with the staff, and play dates with other friendly dogs! Campers receive special toys and play special games throughout the day designed to keep them mentally stimulated, and having fun! Best of all, you can enroll your buddy in any one of our standard programs (or let us help you design a custom program of your own!) where he will get up to an hour per day of one-on-one instruction with one of our friendly and experienced tutors!

Each Better Than Boot Campsm program is custom-tailored to meet the needs of the dog and his people. We do not enforce our 'model' of good behavior on you and your dog, but rather work together with you to understand your goals, and then come up with a plan so that we can meet them together. We do not follow the old-school "dog obedience" model, but instead want to work with you to decide what your dog needs to learn to be successful in your home!
We're completely qualified and ready to handle any level of training your dog may require. Everything from basic through advanced obedience type training, as well as many behavior problems can be addressed while your dog receives lots of human attention, dog-social time, exercise, enrichment, fun and a great education on top of it all!

If you have special requirements we can schedule you for an in-home Behavior Assessment Consultation prior to admission to Better Than Boot Campsm. This allows us to observe you and your dog in your 'native habitat', get a better feeling for the obstacles you're trying to overcome and the goals you want to achieve. After this kind of review can we provide you with a reasonable estimate of what it will take to get you where you want to be!
This is not your run-of-the-mill doggie boot camp! Our programs are all designed and supervised by Barbara Davis, CPDT-KA, CDBC, the only dog behavior consultant in the Inland Empire certified by both CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers - www.ccpdt.org) and the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants - www.iaabc.org). Since her credentials are issued by independent certifying bodies (as opposed to schools who issue their own "diplomas"), you can be assured that your dog will receive the most professional and comprehensive education possible!
Our philosophy is "open door", and we want you to know what we're doing and how we're doing it. We'd love for you to visit Pet Chalet at 326 Adams Circle in Corona, and get the complete tour prior to enrolling in any of our boarding programs so you can see for yourself the clean, comfortable environment your dog will enjoy while in our care. While we do not encourage clients to visit their dogs during most training stays, many of our training sessions are conducted in full view of Pet Chalet's web cams, and you'll be given secure access to Pet Chalet's DVR system so you can watch our trainers in action!
